Fun Stuff: (sound like anyone you know?)

"Behind the painted picket gate, there lived a quilter known as Kate.

She had one son, a boy named John;

One daughter, whom she doted on.

She had one husband and one house

One pup, one cat, one little mouse.

And 14,287 pieces of fabric."

-excerpt from "14,287 Pieces of Fabric" by Jean Ray Laury

Archival Quilt Storage Boxes

A great source of acid free boxes large enough to store one or more quilts is The Container Store in your area.  They carry a small size box (18" x 15" x 5"), medium size (22x19x5") and a large one that can fit under the bed (40x19x6").  Each box come with a few sheets of their acid free tissue paper and you can buy extra packs of tissue (30x40") in the 20 count size.  Prices are reasonable and range from $25-40.00 for the boxes and $10 for the tissue (in the Austin, Texas area at least).  Remember to refold or roll quilts at least every year so that they don't get "memory lines".  Tip: The large boxes are made for bridal gowns so you can fit several large quilts in one!
