Thread choices: When choosing thread colors, keep in mind that "poppies" will appear most likely on the back of the quilt, especially when using vastly different colors of thread. Once the quilt is laundered, these often disappear, but not always. We can make suggestions to minimize this effect.
“Edge-to-edge” meander is a stitch pattern that covers the entire quilt including border and sash areas, in the same continuous pattern. It can be, for example, stipple, swirls, stars & loops, etc. Price and type of batting determine the actual size of these patterns.
A pantograph is a stitch pattern set up to be used in rows. It starts at the edge and goes to the opposite edge in a logical pattern. The quilt is then rolled and another row is done, evenly spaced from the previous row. These patterns generally run between 4-15” in width, and vary greatly in complexity.
Our Custom price levels carry ranges to help accommodate custom requests. For example: A quilt done all in feathers and vines would most likely be at the higher end of the category. However, a quilt with a simpler overall meander with an intricate feather center motif would be in the lower end of the range. |
